in my studio: simple inspirations

I've paired two hand stamped copper tags with spiritual charms for simple but meaningful necklaces. The quotes below each piece illustrate my inspiration.

shall find it."

...he must be like the butterfly

who is the lover of the light

from whatever lamp it may shine...

in my studio: custom beadwork

A good friend of mine asked me to create a special piece...last year. It feels so good to finally complete it, although it was not my intention to take so long. Rainbow Warrior (for peace, of course) is a brooch. She will fly to New York City soon, to it's new owner.

Bead Embroidered Pin using size 11 and 15 seed beads. Backed with black leather.

unity poetry

I found this beautiful sentiment on a card some years ago. On the back of this card is information about an organization founded by Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956 (a former president of the US), named People to People International, which is dedicated to increasing understanding between peoples of the world, through cultural and educational activities and programs.

This poem is accompanied with photos of my grandson and a friend, who's father is from Ghana and mother is from the US.

My skin is yellow, black and brown. It's beige and red and pink.

My heart connects with everyone's.

We're family, don't you think?

Inspired by African American Poetry
